They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.- Acts 2:42
Discipleship is the continual process of becoming committed followers of Jesus by participating in covenant relationships that help us learn to embody love, mercy, and justice through community. Small groups are one way we do discipleship at St. Mark’s.
The heart of Methodism during the life of John Wesley was the Class Meeting. This was a small covenant discipleship group where members confessed their faults to one another, prayed for each other, and encouraged one another to love and serve. They examined the teachings of the Bible in light of actual personal experience and provided a community of support for the life of faith. This is still the pattern we follow for growing in God's grace.
Sunday school classes (9:30-10:30 AM) are a time for you to gather and grow in God's love. Nursery and children’s Sunday School available at same time. Other small group and learning opportunities occur throughout the year.
